Satpol PP Tightens Security of Cawang City Forest

The Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) of Makasar District, East Jakarta, has tightened surveillance in the Cawang City Forest area, Jalan DI Panjaitan, Kebon Pala Urban Village.

Carried out every day

This effort was made to anticipate potential disturbances to public order and security, following information circulating widely on social media regarding alleged inappropriate activities in the area.

Head of Makasar District's Satpol PP, Robinhot Butarbutar said monitoring is conducted nightly by deploying eight personnel. On weekends, the number of officers is increased to 10 to 15.

"On weekdays, the security watch runs from 10 PM to 1 AM. On weekends, it runs from 10PM to 4 AM," he said.

Robinhot explained that the increased surveillance was a response to information that went viral on social media regarding the alleged activities of a number of people in the city forest area, which were feared to be disturbing public order and comfort.

According to him, this supervision is part of an effort to anticipate disturbances to public order and security in the Makasar District area.

Intensive monitoring has been underway since last weekend. However, officers have not found any immoral acts as reported on social media.

"We will continue to ensure that monitoring is carried out every day," he added.

Meanwhile, one of Kebon Pala Urban Village's residents, Anri (41), appreciated the Satpol PP personnel for conducting monitoring.

"Hopefully this effort can be a preventive measure to prevent negative behavior in the Cawang City Forest area," he admitted.
